Biography of Lewis Caroll, author ofthe novel 'Alice in Wonderland'.

Information I got from this webpage; 'Lewis Carroll' was a pen name, for the author Charles Dodgson. His life span was between the years 1832 to 1898. Not only was he a lecture in mathematics, he had a side passion for politics and the arts; writing poems and doing photography.  His novel 'Alice's adventure in wonderland' was published in 1865. From this small sample of information, I can research into his time period and its connotation of colours and symbolism, to help decode his use and choices to represent characters. Victorians may of had different customs and connotation for colours than we do today.  Article Title Lewis Carroll Biography Author Biography.com Editors Website Name The Biography.com website URL https://www.biography.com/people/lewis-carroll-9239598 Access Date November 9, 2018 Publisher A&E Television Networks Last Updated April 27, 2017 Original Published Date April 2, 2014

We discussed that I should bring context of the original story by Lewis Carol and his time period- what colours and other visuals represented with in his time, his feelings towards characters ect. I also plan to bring in some research into semiotics to deconstruct the introduction scenes and use of the signs. We tried construct an essay question, based on what I planned to write about. 'A analysis of two introductory scenes of two different characters' 'How does the introduction/first entrance scenes of two different characters create different meanings?' 'In the introduction/first entrance scenes of the characters 'The Red Queen' and 'The White Queen' from 'Alice In Wonderland' (Tim Burton-2010-Us-Disney) compare h...
